Monday Mates is a new project organised by the Derbyshire Cricket Foundation. It is a community café open to all, especially those who are affected by Dementia and their carers, at the Incora County Ground. During the group there will be light refreshments served, games, activities and the chance to get involved in some light adapted exercise.
Monday Mates happens on the first Monday of the month; 2nd October will be the fifth session; have a look at write-ups from some of the others [here](https://www.goodgym.org/organisations/the-derbyshire-cricket-foundation).
You can help by volunteering to live life along side those who come for 2 hours each month, being a friendly face, a welcoming person to chat to and someone to join in with activities with them such as the monthly quiz, craft activities etc.
Arriving 30 minutes before the official caf√© start time of 10am, we will help with setting up the room and discussing the plans for the session with other volunteers from the cricket foundation. We’ll then stay for a little while after everyone’s gone to help with clearing up.
You don’t need any qualifications but dementia training would be preferable to help equip you for the role, as well as safeguarding training. As well as signing up to this community mission, please [complete this online form](https://forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=zSdMEiRPP0exd3GBoiM6gJErjkqHtW5Hmnh-q-JuC41URE1QVEtGVUw5S04yMk1GWDZaUEMwOFJTSy4u) to register your interest in volunteering for this task. The cricket club can then provide you with links for online training, and sort out the required DBS checks (NOTE: these do not have to be completed before the session).
There is free parking at the cricket ground, and a stand where bikes can be locked to.
