This event gives participants who wouldn’t normally visit The Queen’s Gallery the chance to engage with the Style and Society: Dressing the Georgians exhibition. Our exciting exhibition explores what the Georgians wore, from the practical dress of laundry maids to the glittering gowns worn at court. Participants can discover what fashion can tell us about life in the 18th century, and get up close to magnificent paintings, prints and drawings by artists including Gainsborough, Zoffany and Hogarth, as well as luxurious textiles, sparkling jewellery, and a range of accessories from snuff boxes to swords.
The event will start at 10:30 with an introductory talk, before a chance to see the exhibition and then join in with a creative workshop. Pre-booking is essential.
