Contact the Elderly, a national charity dedicated to tackling loneliness and social isolation among older people, will again be joining in the Silver Sunday celebrations this year.
The charity holds afternoon tea parties for the over-75s once a month, particularly for those people who live at home alone with little or no contact from family and friends and who perhaps need some help getting out of the house.
On Sunday 1st October, they will be holding special Silver Sunday afternoon teas across the country to mark the national day for older people.
