Join Friends of Markeaton Park to help maintain the walled garden and ensure it can be opened for visitors.
Jobs will include making sure any watering is done, picking produce and carrying out general gardening tasks.
Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and bring some gardening gloves.
Task owner Mel has confirmed the meeting point is the walled garden, near the craft village arch. The walled garden is just on the left up the road that leads away from the arch. You will see some wrought iron gates, just open them and head on in.
The task can only go ahead if there are at least 2 volunteers signed up, for health and safety reasons stipulated by the Friends of Markeaton Park.
This Markeaton Park session is taking place on a Saturday with the idea to take part in the parkrun at this location on the day. With the session starting at 10am there’s time to take part in the parkrun and maybe even grab something from The Orangery within the park before the community mission.
