Westminster Abbey is a building steeped in history. It is also a place of national memory and its famous Poets’ Corner commemorates some of Britain’s greatest literary figures.
In this special workshop for older people, take a guided walk through the historic building and learn about the lives of some of the poets whose names are carved in the stone.
Over tea and biscuits, work together to construct a group poem reflecting on the Abbey and its literary connections. There will also be an opportunity to peruse poems written by those remembered in the Abbey and share your favourite poems with the group.
