Coffee Morning (with sketching) for Art Lovers

This month the exhibition we are taking inspiration from is Rosa Sepple PRI. Taking Rosa’s lead we will be drawing pictures of our youth; what we got up to when we were young, or what we wished we had done.

“My paintings are an expression of a playful world I never had. Somehow I missed my childhood, went straight into marriage and motherhood and much of the fun in life seemed to pass me by. Now, as I sit and work in my studio, I can take my most excessive imaginings for a walk in complete safety and do all the naughty things I might like to have done.” Rosa Sepple

This event is part of Silver Sunday, an annual day of fun and free activities for older people across the UK. Led by The Sir Simon Milton Foundation, it celebrates the value and knowledge they contribute to our communities while combating loneliness and isolation. Everyone can get involved, whether that’s organising an event, spreading the word, or simply attending an activity. The official Silver Sunday is on 1 October. Find out about more events that you can get involved in here.

Our Coffee Mornings for Art Lovers are perfect for those of you who love popping in to have an informal chat about art with other visitors and members of the Mall Galleries team. There is also the chance to do some drawing, with Free drawing materials generously provided by Winsor & Newton.

Come along between 10am and 12 noon, get a hot drink and a pastry from the Cafe for just £3. Entry to both exhibitions; Rosa Sepple PRI and the Royal Society of Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers, is Free during the coffee morning.
