We have officially been given stewardship of our very own, brand new GoodGym Wandsworth garden! We have been given the fabulous opportunity to take over a big area around the back of the Omnibus theatre in Clapham. This brilliant place runs as a charity, but simply doesn’t have the resources to be able to maintain a huge raised bed on their property. They have given us the chance to take it over. What’s more is that they have a program giving meals to disadvantaged children and teaching them about food in the holidays, so the plan is that we will grow produce to donate to them.
Digging is the priority to prep the ground – we will be giving it a proper going over and planning next steps. If you have a pair of gardening gloves please do bring them along.
We will be setting up a monthly group run to maintain the garden, and a few weekend sessions a month, and I’m really excited to see how we can transform the space.
