Exploring Materials workshop

Join us for hands-on workshops where you can develop creative skills and learn new ones whilst socialising. Open to all aged 16+ but specifically tailored for people aged 65 and over.
Each week, we’ll explore elements of art: form, texture, colour, shape, line, value and space, with artist Sian Watson Taylor.
Taking inspiration from our current exhibitions we will experiment with a variety of artforms such as sculpture, drawing and collage, textiles, poetry and soundscapes with a focus on ‘pattern’. Through group collaboration, conversation, creative play and reflection, we will consider the themes of our current gallery exhibitions in different ways. We will explore similar materials and processes as used by the artists.
No experience or previous skills needed. Refreshments and all art materials provided. Come along to take part and create art through conversation, creative play and reflection.
Just £15 per session or £45 for the full course of four sessions.
Tue 5 Mar, Tue 12 Mar, Tue 19 Mar, Tue 26 Mar, 10am-1pm

We offer a limited number of reduced rates for new participants over 65 years old. Please contact Natelle Morgan-Brown natelle@nottinghamcontemporary.org / 0115 9489 787 to ask about this offer or for more information about the workshops.
