Coming to our dance classes puts you at risk of making new friends, having a giggle, keeping fit and keeping your brain super active while it’s learning to coordinate your moves to the music.

On 6th of October, alongside our normal Woodkirk classes, we will hold an additional beginners class, free of charge, for the older generation to try it out. Also to come in and see that about 80% of our regulars are over 50 so it’s really not uncommon at all and silver heads are not out of place.
We will start at 8pm so best come a little bit earlier to change shoes. You want something comfortable on your feet, but not with rubber/anti slip sole – friction makes dancing harder. You also want to bring a water bottle, as we have no bar on Sundays. Come alone or with friends, we switch partners every minute, so nobody is left without.
Our normal classes are running at 8pm (Improver) and around 8.45 (two levels beginners, intermediate) then we hang out and dance socially till late. You are welcome to hang out with us.
On this occasion we will have snacks, cakes, buns etc to celebrate your welcome to our community and in memory of our beloved dancer and community member Janet Hardcastle who died this year. She danced almost every night at 73 so don’t think it is too late for you to try, she would have definitely tell you to get yourself to a dance class. The food is purchased for the donations made during her funeral.
