Tiny Forest Community Event @ Peckham Rye Park & Common

A Tiny Forest is a dense, fast-growing, native woodland made up of 600 trees planted in a tennis court-sized plot. They are not only an attractive location for wildlife but are great for people to enjoy as well, and can provide a range of benefits in the fight against climate change. At this site, the team will be planting two Tiny Forest’s next to each so a total of 1200 trees!

Come along and join the Tiny Forest team as together you’ll learn more about the environmental and social benefits that this Tiny Forest brings to the community here in Peckham.

During the event, you will learn about:

– Wildlife in the forest including butterflies, bees, and bugs!
– How trees can capture and store carbon from the air we breathe
– The forest’s ability to store water
– The cooling benefits of the trees

So please come along, enjoy an afternoon immersed in nature and take part in hands-on research.

The exact location is here (51¬∞27’31.2″N 0¬∞03’35.0″W | https://what3words.com///plant.march.owls) and it can be accessed via Stakers Rd.
