Our impact

We have grown from a small local initiative in the heart of Westminster in 2012 to over 1,200 events and activities in 2019 (750 events in 2021, post-pandemic) alone working with hundreds of organisations, charities and businesses around the UK. We believe in the past five years alone we have reached over 200,000 older guests, creating new friendships and strengthening community connections of all ages. Silver Sunday has seen the creation of annual local programmes such as Barnet’s “Silver Week” for older residents and Wiltshire’s “Silver Salisbury”.

“Silver Sunday is a fantastic example of community collaboration in tackling isolation and loneliness. It is a powerful vehicle to draw attention to the problem of loneliness amongst older people and has been a catalyst in further projects in Salisbury including a 3 year intergenerational project in the city.”
